Rex Brinkmeyer is the new Regional Logistics Manager for the San Antonio branch at General Insulation. He has been with General Insulation since September 2014, starting out as Inside Sales at the San Antonio branch.
Prior to joining General Insulation, Rex worked in executive level positions for Target and GNC (General Nutrition Center). At Target, Rex served as the Executive Team Leader of Logistics for multiple stores in the Austin, TX market. He was accountable for managing the day-to-day operations of the logistics team, utilizing state-of –the art technology to manage the receiving processes, freight flow and replenishment transitions, productivity results, backroom inventory management, developing team and ensuring proper training and certifications, and ensuring great guest service by interacting with guests and team members. Prior to Target, Rex served as a Store Manager for multiple GNC stores in the central Texas marketplace. His duties with GNC included managing the operations, staffing, and sales/profit goals in a single assigned retail store, ensuring total compliance with all store operations policies, managing the store inventory within GNC guidelines, and managing work schedules within established budgets for optimal store coverage.
Rex attended Herkimer College in upstate New York on a baseball scholarship and graduated with a degree in Business Administration. Rex lived in upstate New York for 3 ½ years and being a southerner, he doesn’t miss the cold at all.
Rex was born and raised in a small town just southeast of Austin called Taylor where he still currently calls home with his wife Julie of one year. In his free time Rex enjoys playing as much golf as possible, slow-pitch softball, and spending time with his family and friends. He and his wife currently have 3 dogs that they treat as their own children, which has been great practice considering they are expecting their first child in December 2015.
