In his current role as General Manager, GIC, John Nesbitt’s initial responsibilities focus on launching its newest branch in Saint-Laurent, QC and ulitmately guiding GIC’s Canadian operations to growth and profitability
An experienced and skilled operations and sales and marketing executive, in his former role as Sales Director – Manson Insulation Products Ltd., John was responsible for guiding North American sales activities, defining market potential, driving new sales initiatives, implementing marketing driven brand strategy and ensuring up to date market analysis. In addition to these responsibilities, John oversaw the MIP and KI Ltd. office installations in Brossard, QC.
Prior to MIP, John served as President at Encore Strategies Inc., providing business development services ranging from sales and marketing strategies and market studies to complete business/development plan preparation as well as hands-on coaching and team building. This followed John`s tenure as President at Triumph Tube Inc. where he was reponsible for nurturing this start-up aluminum tube company from business plan to manufacturing entity, encompassing preparation of the market study and business plan, set-up and acquistion of facility and equipment, securing of capital, market development and start-up of operations and deliveries to customers. Prior to Triumph Tube, John served as Vice-President of Sales and Marketing at ALFINITI Inc., and was responsible for tapping into the growing demand for value-added aluminum products by managing sales growth, driving business development strategies and marketing programs, while actively pursuing and completing strategic acquisitions and mergers. Other successful business launches include Donesco Medtech Inc., where John served as Vice-President and Managing Partner and played a significant role in guiding this start-up cancer treatment equipment distribution company from its inception to achieving financial stability in the competitive medical and para-medical marketplaces.
John has extensive experience throughout the North American marketplace and was actively involved in developing several European markets for ALFINITI. John’s previous experience includes positions in various manufacturing companies that produce building materials, consumer packaging and other products. At Novatech Glass Inc., John assumed the position of Director of Sales and Marketing during a time when the company was navigating an aggressive growth curve, and he succeeded in establishing it as the premier Canadian company in its industry. John also held positions with the Industrial Division of Reynolds Aluminum and Onex Packaging Inc.
John earned a B. Comm. in Administrative and Commercial Studies from the University of Western Ontario, after receiving Dean’s List honours at Iona College (with a Major in Finance and Banking) and being recognized as a State of New York Merit Scholar prior to returning to Canada to finish his education. John is a long standing member of CPSA, NIA, AIQ and several volunteer boards.
